GeraClinic / Verified doctors
Every doctor on GeraClinic is verified
Before a doctor can see a single patient, we confirm two things: their registration with their national medical council and their identity. Verification is backed by Gera Vouch — a cryptographic attestation layer that signs each result so it can be independently checked.
A verified telemedicine doctor is a doctor whose right to practise has been independently confirmed against the official register of their national medical council, with their identity matched to that registration. On GeraClinic, no doctor appears to patients until they reach the Verified doctor state — and a doctor still in checks is shown only internally as Verification pending.
What “verified” actually means
Medical-council registration
We confirm the doctor holds a current, valid registration with their national medical council or licensing board — and that it has not lapsed, expired, or been suspended at the time of verification.
Identity
We confirm the person practising is the person named on the registration, using government-issued identity documents. The face on the consultation matches the licence.
Credentials & specialty
We review the qualifications and specialty the doctor lists, so a profile labelled "Cardiologist" reflects a real, registered scope of practice — not a self-declared title.
Ongoing monitoring
Verification is re-checked periodically. If a registration lapses or is withdrawn, the doctor loses their verified status until it is restored.
The registries we check, by country
Every country has an official body a doctor must be registered with to practise legally. We check each doctor against the right one for their country of practice.
| Country | Authority | Full name |
|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | Verified · GMC | General Medical Council |
| Pakistan | Verified · PMC | Pakistan Medical Commission |
| Bangladesh | Verified · BMDC | Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council |
| Nepal | Verified · NMC | Nepal Medical Council |
| Philippines | Verified · PRC | Professional Regulation Commission |
| Kenya | Verified · KMPDC | Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentists Council |
| India | Verified · NMC India | National Medical Commission |
| Nigeria | Verified · MDCN | Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria |
| Ghana | Verified · MDC | Medical & Dental Council, Ghana |
| Uganda | Verified · UMDPC | Uganda Medical & Dental Practitioners Council |
This list is illustrative of the bodies we check against and grows as GeraClinic adds doctors in new countries. The relevant authority is always the one in the doctor’s country of registration.
Backed by Gera Vouch — a cryptographic attestation layer
Most platforms ask you to take “verified” on trust. GeraClinic doesn’t. Each verification result is recorded by Gera Vouch, Gera’s own attestation layer, which produces an Ed25519-signed receipt of what was checked and when. The signature can be verified independently against Gera’s public key — so “verified” is a statement that can be proven, not just asserted.
Honest scope: the receipt attests that GeraClinic ran the registration and identity checks and what they returned. It is a proof-of-diligence record — not an indemnity, insurance, or a clinical guarantee.
What a verified badge is not
We only ever claim what we actually check. To be clear about the limits:
- We do not guarantee a clinical outcome or diagnosis.
- A verified badge is not an endorsement of any individual treatment decision.
- We confirm registration and identity — we are not a malpractice insurer or a regulator.
- Patient reviews reflect individual experiences, not a clinical quality rating.
