NHS Doctor Salary 2026/27 — FY1 to Consultant

Annual basic pay for every NHS doctor grade in England, effective 1 April 2026 (2026/27 pay year). Doctors are paid on separate medical & dental terms rather than Agenda for Change, with a 3.5% award for 2026/27.

How much do NHS doctors earn in England for 2026/27?

As of April 2026, NHS doctors in England earn, in basic pay: a foundation doctor £40,190 – £45,994, a resident doctor in training £54,499 – £76,582, and a consultant £113,565 – £150,569.
