Frequently asked questions

What types of mental health support does GeraClinic offer?

GeraClinic offers online consultations with licensed therapists (CBT, person-centred, psychodynamic), counsellors, and psychiatrists (for medication assessment where licensed). Sessions are available by video call, voice call, or asynchronous chat. AI triage before booking helps route you to the right type of support.

Is online therapy from GeraClinic confidential?

Yes. All sessions are end-to-end encrypted. GeraClinic does not share session content with third parties. Practitioners are bound by professional confidentiality rules in their jurisdiction. The exception is mandatory reporting: if a practitioner believes there is an immediate risk to you or others, they are legally required to act — this applies equally to in-person and online therapy.

What if I am in a mental health crisis?

GeraClinic is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call emergency services (999 in the UK, 112 in EU, 911 in the US) or go to your nearest A&E / emergency room. In the UK, you can also call the Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7). GeraClinic partners with local crisis lines by country — the app shows local emergency numbers based on your location.
